Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

Watching JR spend hours playing with the toad he caught out in garden this afternoon, I am again amazed at his love for nature. Whether it's a frog, a worm, an insect, or a guppy, my little boy is drawn to and intrigued by it. In the past week alone, he has befriended the toad, an earthworm, an inchworm, a caterpillar and a snail. He gave each one a name, played with it for hours on end, gathered food for it, and tried to build a home for it. As much as he loved each little critter, he willingly set it free at night so it could return to its 'real' home. And while he looks forward to the next little creature he'll discover, I in turn, marvel at how special this little boy is and how lucky I am to have him - to teach me to appreciate the little things...

I just found your blog, I can't believe I've been missing it all of this time.
Wow!! You are so right! Evan and Skip do have so much in common, they seem to be so much alike!
I showed Evan the pictures on this post and he said, "Can I go to Skip's house to play with him?"
I explained that y'all live too far for us to hop in the van and go visit, but that we hoped sometime soon we could get together. And he asked, "Why did God make places like Russia and Massachusetts so far away?"
