JR has Pre-K "graduation" next Thursday, and we're looking forward to summer! Since he is such a pack-rat, (just like his Poppa) we found a great way to collect and organize all his summer treasures. After school, lunch, worm digging (food for his toad) and 2 games of "Sight Word Bingo" today, we covered the table with newspaper and he painted an unfinished wooden "book" box. The color of the paint said "fly away blue" but it looks purple to me - but he said it was fine, so, that's the color. It's about the size of magazine with a 2" wide binding, and when the paint dried, we glued on some summer embellishments left over from my scrapbooking projects as well as some tiny seashells we had collected last summer, and now it's done and drying as I write. I thought it would be a great place for him to keep all the little valuables he collects - like amusement park maps (the child has a fetish for maps), ticket stubs, seashells and sea glass to name a few, plus he had alot of fun painting and decorating. If it works out well, we might just do one every summer.

Getting Ready for Summer
So now that our project is done, and JR has fallen asleep, I guess I'll clean up quickly and answer the call...of the rain outside the windows which seems to be whispering ...."Judy, come nap too"...
