This afternoon JR was tested and during his swim lessons at the YMCA and passed easily, moving from the "eel" level to "rays". He is very excited about that, and is telling everyone he's on the StingRay Team, as if it were a baseball ball team or something. Kinda funny to hear him explain.
Then this evening at his Kids4Truth Bible Class, he earned his sash, having memorized the first five "Key Truths". He has worked really hard on learning them, and despite being tired and nervous, he was able to do them all. The kids usually end the nite with an accomplishment session , at which time the Director announces what each child has done this week, and then makes presentations if any. JR could hardly sit in his seat until she called on him and presented him with his red sash. He posed for the camera, and then sat quite proudly through the rest of ceremony, clapping enthusiastically for each child. He is most proud of the fact that he is the first in his group to reach this milestone and receive an "official sash".
By the time Cap came from his meeting, I think he had showed his "stash" to every single adult still in the building. We made a very big deal of it, and treated him to an Ice Cream Cone from Friendly's on the way home. When I think how far he has come from the shy little baby we arrived home with not yet 4 years ago, I feel SO blessed!
