101 things you may not have know about me 'til today & perhaps now wish you didn't....

  1. I met my husband online.
  2. Back then you didn't admit that to anyone.
  3. I asked HIM to marry ME.
  4. We bought our rings on Ebay.
  5. We were married at an airport however neither of us worked there nor were affiliated with it or anyone else there.
  6. I didn't know where I was going on my Honeymoon 'til we were on the last leg of our flight because I thought it would be fun if my husband surprised me.
  7. The hotel we stayed in was likely the worst we've stayed in.
  8. My husband hasn't been allowed to plan a vacation since.
  9. As a kid I never had a pet.
  10. I made up for it since and at one point we had 11 cats in our home.
  11. All had first, middle, and Nicknames: Callie Mae "Princess Bum", Kobie Jane "Psycho", Kiefer Michael "Pigpen", Smokey Joe "Mokey", Captain Morgan "The King", Samuel Adam "Tam-Tam", Abby Gayle "GabbyAbby" , Harry Oscar "H.O." Patrica Ann "Marla", Starboard Side "Starry" Port Side "Dingis".
  12. My first pet was a dog names Tiptoe.
  13. I was petrified of ants as a kid.
  14. I am a Survivor Junkie.
  15. I grew up in a house with 2 parents and 3 older brothers who were New York Yankee Fans.
  16. I was the lone Red Sox fan until my baby brother - (10 years younger) learned to love 'em too.
  17. Baseball season was rough for me as a result.
  18. I got my first gray hair two years ago at 47.
  19. I yanked them all out (about a dozen of them) the very next day.
  20. Despite warnings from everyone, mostly my younger sister who does have gray hair, they never grew back.
  21. I am legally blind in my left eye.
  22. My dad died a month after I bought my first house.
  23. I hate Nascar.
  24. When I was pregnant with my oldest I had three days of morning sickness...and mid morning sickness, and noon sickness..right on up to midnight sickness.
  25. As a result, I lost five lbs the first 4 months of my pregnancy.
  26. I have 4 brothers and a sister. I am the 4th oldest or 3rd youngest - however you wanna look at it.
  27. I only wore dresses (mostly hand sewn by my mother) 'til I was 4 because my mother was so happy to have a daughter after 3 boys. See picture above.
  28. I rarely wear dresses these days.
  29. I believe cheetos are food group. Really.
  30. I hate it when my family doesn't properly close food containers.
  31. Finding one such specimen cause me to use colorful language.
  32. I can't sleep with any closet doors open in my room.
  33. I won a Phys Ed. competition in the 3rd grade and got a trophy.
  34. I accidentally broke the trophy on the way home from school that day.
  35. My first car was an orange VW fastback.
  36. I also owned an "arrest me red" 1968 Firebird.
  37. I learned to drive a standard transmission when I was 18 and have owned 3 of 'em.
  38. I hate horror movies and have to sleep with the lights on if I see any scary parts of them.
  39. I hate being late.
  40. My husband doesn't and as a result, we often are.
  41. I really wish I was a better mom.
  42. I make a conscious effort every day to become one.
  43. My mom is the most selfless person I know.
  44. I don't think I inherited the gene.
  45. I did inherit the gene that makes you like to move furniture constantly from her though and it drives my family nuts.
  46. I have been to Russia 6 times.
  47. I can throw back Vodka shots with the big boys.
  48. Contrary to the norm, I absolutely LOVE my in-laws.
  49. I love the Waltons too and despise cartoons.
  50. I can talk myself into or out of just about any situation including procuring rooms at sold out hotels.
  51. This often gets me where I wanna be.
  52. This also often gets me into trouble.
  53. I love chocolate butter & french fries, though not eaten together.
  54. I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.
  55. My favorite ice cream is homemade strawberry.
  56. I refuse to eat a hamburger.
  57. I once went on a Cheetos & Bottled water diet for two weeks (when I was depressed over the long delay to bring my son home from Russia).
  58. I lost 10 lbs. on the diet.
  59. I since gained them back and lost them all over again.
  60. I've been known to get up in the middle of the night, sit on the front porch, and watch a good lightning storm.
  61. My house has been hit by lightning twice.
  62. In elementary school I was always top of my class academically. Behavior, not so much.
  63. I'm still not good at behaving just because I'm expected to.
  64. I coached my daughter's Jr. League Baseball team to a second place finish(out of 14).
  65. I have been a Cub Scout Leader.
  66. My best friend died of cancer 16 years ago.
  67. I have 4 kids and one on the way...as well as 3 stepchildren and have just one daughter.
  68. I can't speak any foreign languages fluently, but understand & speak bits and pieces of Portuguese, Polish Russian & Sign Language.
  69. I went to an all girls Catholic High School.
  70. My oldest was born on 4 July and is named after the character Gregory Harrison played in the 1979 made for TV miniseries, " Centennial".
  71. For 20 years we had a clamboil for his birthday. (Ya gotta live in the Northeast to know what a Clamboil is).
  72. Neither he nor I ate clams.
  73. I have now learned to love 'em.
  74. My father never let us drink milk if we had a clamboil. Something about upsetting our stomachs.
  75. Now I drink it every single time I have clams. Because I can.
  76. I own a one-eyed dog I adopted from a Rescue Organization.
  77. I love to read & scrapbook, but do more of both in the winter.
  78. I hope to some day spend a year cruisin' all around the world with my husband and boys.
  79. I can swim to save my life but I am not a great swimmer by any means.
  80. I believe in Santa Claus - but then again, who doesn't?
  81. I have finally re-memorized (I knew them in grade school). all the books of the Bible.
  82. I learned to ride my first two-wheeler at age 5.
  83. My father bought me my first an only "new" bicycle (though it was a tricycle) from the local A & P.
  84. It was the only new bike I ever had until my husband bought me one 9 years ago.
  85. I have never owned, nor do I aspire to own, a brand new vehicle.
  86. My nationality is the Double P. Half Polish, half Portuguese. I know, what a combination.
  87. I gave my mother most of her gray hair when I was a rebellious teen.
  88. I was once madly in love with Matt Lauer & Mark Harmon.
  89. Neither of them do anything for me these days.
  90. I really did walk 2 miles - back & forth - to school each day.
  91. It was only uphill on the way TO school.
  92. Growing up my family didn't own a car til I was 10 and my oldest brother got his first one.
  93. I've killed every single houseplants I have ever owned - though not intentionally.
  94. I do have a somewhat green thumb when it comes to outdoor gardening, however.
  95. I played with dolls 'til I was 11.
  96. I sucked my thumb 'til I was 9 and got chicken pox really bad.
  97. I love snowstorms.
  98. I still play in the snow. Generally however, I now have to shovel it first - and THEN I get to play in it.
  99. Even though Herman's Hermits was before my time, they were my favorite for years.
  100. I like to ice skate, but fall alot.
  101. I am the luckiest woman in the world and am married to the best husband & father ever.

Whew!! Doing 100 of anything would take me, well, forever!! Great list. Got to learn more about you.

Oh, I loved Herman Hermit growing up!! Still love to sing along on XM radio when I catch them!

Yikes! Nobody ever told me they love Hermans Hermits too! And all this time my husband has been trying to convince me that I am the one and only member of their fan club! Wait 'til I tell him there are two of us!

I really enjoyed reding all these, some I knew, some not..... I feel compelled to comment though on #41.... make no mistake about it - you are a wonderful mother who has done signifigantly more for her kids than most parents ever will, there is a countless number of people in the world, who would give anything to have a mother of your caliber, or to be a mother as wonderful as you.
