We all went off to VBS this morning wearing our best mismatched outfits, and hoping the fashion police didn't pull us over on the way. I was also relieved to see I wasn't he only big kid who dressed up - in fact, my outfit was quite mild compared to some others!
"Secret" Judges observed the kids throughout the morning and at closing ceremony, 1st & 2nd place winners in all age groups were announced. We were surprised to find out both boys were winners in the 6 & under group. Drew won first place, and JR second! All the winners got to pick out a prize from the stash, and of course, THAT was a major production. Sorta like the visit to the dentist's office. 15 minute drive to get there, 2 minutes (gotta love this dentist) in the waiting room, 15 minute office visit, and then 60 minutes to pick out a prize from the toy chest.
On the way home I had this brainstorm that I would make a quick stop at Target to pick up some magnifying glasses for the boys Dinosaur Detective outfits tomorrow. I pulled into the lot, undid my seatbelt, got out of the car to help the boys out of their seats, then took a good look
at myself and realized what I was wearing... Needless to say I got back in the van quickly and drove straight home. I mean, if we ran into anyone looking this way, I could easily explain the boys by saying Cap dressed them (not entirely untrue) but I sincerely do not believe they'd buy into the concept of him dressing ME.... I'm cracking up at the outfits!! You all did a great job on these! And, I laughed out loud at you almost going into the store that way!!
that is so funny! I went to the store once, and forgot that I was wearing my PJ bottoms...got out of the car, started walking and then had 'one of those moments'...and ran back to the car (and you know what I do for a living...that could have been disasterous to my career - hee hee!)
OMG Kathy, that WOULD defintely be a huge no-no considering your career!
