HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESTELLE GETTY!

Today would have been Estelle Getty's 85th birthday. Sadly she passed away earlier in the week, having suffered from advanced Lewy body dementia for years. She was best known as Sophia Petrillo, the wise-cracking old Sicilian mother of Dorothy Zbornak, on the Golden Girls TV show. I'm a sucker for oldies TV and this show was not only one of my favorites, but my whole family enjoys it as well, watching it now on DVD and cable reruns.
