Okay, I wasn't around the long weekend so I missed this one, but wanted to do it anyway -

Five Things I Want My Kids To Know Before They Grow Up:

1.) You are loved.

2.) Tell the truth, always. Our reputation is one of the few things we leave this world with.

3.) The fact that you're adopted doesnn't make you different, it makes you SPECIAL - you were chosen! You must always be proud of their Russian Heritage.

4.) Don't be afraid to try new things for fear you'll fail. Failure teaches great lessons.

5.) Pray.

Things I want to tell my kids when they are grown up:

1.) Follow your heart, but use your head. When in doubt, pray.

2.) We never get yesterday back, so live a life of purpose, and have no regrets.

3.) It's the simple things in life that matter most. Remember, quality, not quantity.

4.) Respect women, always.

5.) See the world, but come back home from time to time; call home often.

Hi! I got your comment...I'm glad you found me through "Bambi's" page. I definitely remember you from the wedding. I've enjoyed looking at your page. My sister was adopted and I respect and admire anyone who adopts a child and gives them a loving home, like you have.

I added you to my friends list!

And I laughed about what you said about Kate. I definitely agree with you! :)

So sweet. This one was my favorite..We never get yesterday back, so live a life of purpose, and have no regrets.

I think we sometimes forget we have been given our lives for a purpose. That purpose has very little to do with us, but rather all of the people we encounter. What we make of those encounters is how we fulfill our purpose...or not.
