I suppose theres some consolation to be found...

This week was one of the weeks we had planned for a vacation this summer - and was going to be the week we did our 9 day cruise of the Cape & Islands. The job thing sorta intervened and we decided it was neither practical nor feasible to do. We had an overcast and rainy day on Saturday, Sunday was decent, and we enjoyed an afternoon with friends at our Church's family picnic. Monday & Tuesday brought clouds, showers and an occasional thunderstorm. The forecast for the rest of the week is:

Wednesday - Chance of Rain 100% - High of 69 F

Thursday - Chance of Rain 50% High of 72 F

Friday - Chance of Rain 40% High of 74F

Saturday - Chance of Rain 50% - High of 80 F

Sunday - Chance of rain 30 % High of 80 F

So I guess there is some consolation in the fact that it really wouldn't have been a great boating week, but, at the same time, as we now scramble to get the latest round of paperwork completed so it can arrive in Russia by the the 2nd of September, JR is feeling left out, and bored. This morning we decided to do play-doh (something I really don't like doing in the house, but...

We decided that if we couldn't spend the week on the boat, playing on the beach, and swimming in the ocean, we'd bring it all here. Using a book we got in Russia, that shows all the summer things you can create with play-doh, we created lots of summer fun. We made a beach umbrella, beach towel, pail, shovel of sand, 2 sandcastles, a crab, a sailboat, and two jellyfish. He had fun, I tolerated it well, and it was a good boredom buster. He's now off to watch Word World, and I'm off to ....scrape little dots of play-doh off the dining room table, chairs, and carpet. Not to worry, clean up should be easy since Sabaka has been busy eating all the little pieces JR dropped...

Okay, you all did a fantastic job with the play-doh! It makes me (almost) want to get out the play-doh and play!! JR looks so stinkin proud!! :)

And, I know you aren't happy with that weather, but I'd do anything to have that HERE right now!! It has been like 105 for the past few days! *fanning myself*

Way to make the best of a not so great situation! :)
