Now I know my ABC's

I borrowed this from Whirlwind, who borrowed it from In the trenches, and thought it would be fun to do since summer is slowly winding down. We still have several almost a month of official summer, but with JR back to school and Labor Day weekend upon us, it sure seems like summer is fading. I had a lot of fun with this, you probably will to. Give it a try and leave a comment here so I can be sure to enjoy your ABCs!

A is for Andrew, who spent  two fun-filled. weeks with us this summer.

B is for our backyard. It provided us with hour after hour of fun.

C is for  the Cidada, who drove us absolutely crazy serenaded us on  quite a few nights. Thank goodness We're sad to think they won't be back for another 17 years!

D is for Dinosaur.  Not real ones, but costumes we wore for VBS!
E is for exploring - on land and by sea...

F is for Fish. The ones we saw in the ocean, and the ones in our new fish pond!

G is for garden. And what a garden we had - tomatoes, and green beans, and squash, oh my. We have vegetables that will last til the spring!
H is for hiking. A father and son trip neither will soon forget!
I is for Ice Cream. One of our very favorite summer treats!

J is for jump off the side of the boat!
K is for kite. We had SO many opportunities to fly them this summer!
L is for "LTD" - the best big brother a kid could ever ask for!
M is for marshmallows - straight out of the bag, or cooked over the fire either way JR gets a sugar high, and it's not pretty...

N is for the night sky we got to enjoy on so many beautiful nights spent out on the boat..
O is for the Olympics - or "oh-lim-nicks" as JR says. Like most of us, we rooted on the USA each night and watched in awe as Michael Phelps achieved unimaginable glory.
P  is for Prayer. We prayed each night before we went to sleep and thanked God for all we are blessed with.
Q is for Quahoag. Fun to rake them of course I don't have to rake so of course it's fun but more fun to eat them...YUM!

R is for rain puddles - irresistable to little boys everywhere but especially our guy.

S is for Sunflower hut. Proof that if at first you don't succeed, plant, plant, again!

T is for trampoline - providing endless hours of imaginative play.
U is for underwater & all there is to explore once you master the technique of snorkeling.
V is for VBS. What fun we had all week!
W is for waterfall. This one the guys got to experience when they went camping @ Crawford Notch.
X is for exhilirating mornings aboard Itlldo.  Mornings filled with quiet, stillness, and solitude.
Y is for YMCA, where we went for weekly swimming lessons and I sweltered in the stuffy pool area while JR tried to run the class.
Z is for zucchini - lots of 'em! More than 60 that we harvested from our garden this summer!

Now I posted my ABC's. Won't you play along with me?? C'mon, you know you want to!

Wow, great post - you had pictures for everything. Our cicadas are the yearly type - we've had them for the past three summers, but it is always a treat to find them emerging!
