School's cool...

They say you have to concentrate on the positives in your life (btw - I have absolutely NO idea who "they" are) do despite all the crazy crap going on for us now, I'm gonna think about the good stuff...at least for now (til my uppers wear off - just kidding). And to that end, homeschooling is going great so far and we're almost done with week one! Cap finally got the bulletin board hung outside the office/classroom and it's starting to fill in pretty nicely. He still has to put moulding around it, but it looks pretty good. I didn't want to put too much effort into it this month, since there are so few days left in the month, and my hope is to change it monthly, but, I managed to get it together in a few hours, and I think it'll do. Our Science theme this month is "Ocean critters" so that's the theme we went with. Alot of the paperwork JR is doing has an ocean theme as well, and in Creative Arts today we did a whale made out of paper plates and hung it in front of the board.I didn't spent a penny on it, so I guess I did pretty well!

I think you're the only homeschool mom who does as much as you do. Awesome job!

Since Kindergarten is just half day here - 3 hours, I initially thought 2 would be good since clearly one child will learn just as much in 2 as 20 will with just one teacher. But, after the first 2days it seemed we were rushing though stuff, so we're doing 8:30 to 11ish. We are both enjoying it very much, and I didn't want to rush him through stuff. We can shorten it, and will, on days that I need to, but...
